Thanks Dorothy for the comments. I think even back a year ago how hard it was to find people and this year — well, a simple Tweet took care of that. We'll definitely need to make more time at the next show to put down the BlackBerries and laptops to chat.

Allan – I also wondered if you were actually there until we finally said hello briefly in the exhibit area! And it was great to meet the others you mentioned since I had previously only known them on Twitter.

It's hard to remember the time before all the social media tools you've used and mentioned, but I thought way back….to last year….and I think the ways we used to network are similar to what you've listed above. Going to sessions and meeting up with folks on the way in and out is always a good way to stay in touch. I'm also a big fan of seeing people at the bar or at the events run by the conference organizers. We've always tried to book time with journalists in advance to make sure we stay in touch and get the word out around our offerings at these events. When I do need to stop and do some work on my laptop, doing it in the lobby is better for me than going back to my room since I always wind up catching up with someone that way as well.
